Letter From Recruitment Chair
My name is Danielle Hofer and I’m the Recruitment Chair for Phi Mu here at JMU. I am so happy to see that you have found your way onto Phi Mu Gamma Theta’s official website!
We are one of 13 sororities in the Panhellenic community that takes part in Formal Recruitment during the Fall. There are 4 rounds: Open House, Philanthropy, Sisterhood, and Preference. Through a mutual selection process it is our hope that you find a sorority that you can call your home. Becoming part of the Greek Community truly makes a school of 20,000 students feel small.
Becoming a Phi Mu means making lifelong friendships and growing both personally and academically. We pride ourselves on our three core values: love, honor, and truth. Each day we strive to live by these values and our creed. Our sisterhood is very dynamic and we excel in all academic, sisterhood, philanthropic, and social areas here on campus. We have girls involved in club athletics, Student Ambassadors, pre-professional clubs, Safe Rides, and so much more!
Joining Phi Mu is by far one of the best decisions I have made. I have met my best friends, found a support system of over 200 girls, and have truly found my home away from home. I know that I can always count on my sisters whether I need a good laugh or a shoulder to cry on. They continuously encourage me to be the best version of myself. I will be forever grateful to Phi Mu for giving me the opportunity to meet my life long best friends and for pushing me to seek out leadership opportunities, new experiences, and encouraging me in all that I do.
I could not be more excited for this Fall’s recruitment in 2017 and I hope to see you all there!
