Letter From Recruitment Chair

Hello! My name is Bella Demaso and I’m the Recruitment Chair for the Phi Mu Gamma Theta chapter here at James Madison University. Welcome to Phi Mu Gamma Theta’s official website!

Our collegiate chapter is one of twelve sororities in the Panhellenic community that takes part in formal recruitment during the fall. This two-week process consists of four rounds: Open house, Philanthropy, Sisterhood, and Preference. Through a mutual selection process, it is our hope that you find a sorority that you can call your home. I can personally say that becoming a part of the Greek community truly makes a school of 20,000 students feel small.

Becoming a Phi Mu means making lifelong friendships and growing both personally and academically. We pride ourselves on our three core values: love, honor, and truth. Each day we strive to live by these values and our creed. Our sisterhood is very dynamic and we excel in all academic, sisterhood, philanthropic, and social areas here on campus. We have sisters involved in both Varsity and club athletics, Student Ambassadors, pre-professional clubs, Safe Rides, and so much more!

About me, I am a member of the 2020 pledge class and a senior studying Elementary Education at James Madison University. After the first day of formal recruitment my freshman year, I knew I loved the process. My love for recruitment only grew as I got to experience recruiting firsthand for two years as a sister in the Phi Mu Gamma Theta chapter. Fast forward to today, to say I am the Recruitment Chair for this chapter is like a dream come true. Phi Mu gave me my future bridesmaids, endless opportunities, and a platform to excel as both a leader and supportive sister.

I am honored to serve on the executive board for such a supportive, caring, and genuine chapter. Sorority recruitment is an exciting yet nerve-racking experience for both parties and as recruitment chair, I see it as my job to alleviate any stress the potential new members or sisters may have through open communication. I will happily tend to any questions, concerns, or advice as we reach 2023 recruitment. This process is an incredible opportunity for Greek life to expand and prosper in growth.

I could not be more excited for this upcoming recruitment and hope to see you all there!

Good Luck! :)

xoxo, Bella Demaso
